Recently
our society has been inundated by the GST and this has added burden to the
society in general. The situation has come to a point triggering me to source
for additional stream of income to supplement my employment income.
I
recalled coming across an article from Bloomberg that says: “More
Millionaires have been created from the Stock Market than from any other source”.
Notwithstanding being a Chartered Accountant myself with good understanding of
numbers, I have never been trading stocks or any other commodities before. I
have always been reluctant to be involved in this area, believing it this is
not something some laymen like you and I are able to capitalize on the market,
with all the big players out there.
The
article from Bloomberg triggered me to put on the other side of my thinking
cap: If there is where the money is, why can’t I do something and take a
portion of that big piece of cake, which is ever increasing in size.
My
next step was to find the right mentor and train as an apprentice under
him/her. I started to look for free previews of trading schools and getting
feedbacks from my acquaintances who themselves are traders or those who had
attended trading classes in the past. I had to be very careful in selecting the
right mentor because, firstly, I wanted to start off in the right footing, and
secondly, I had limited fund to jump start my trading path. I have heard of
many friends who had attended countless trading courses, spent thousands of
dollars on those courses but have yet any trading result to show.
Lucky
enough for me, through a friend, I met a low profile trader who used to work as
a market analyst in a fund house. We scheduled a session to meet up. It was an
eye opener session for me. He made a statement that I was first reluctant to
believe: “Market is manipulated no matter the size and there is a way to
identify the manipulation”. As a finance guy, what we have been taught is
prices are determined by demand and supply. Now he is talking about
manipulation? Come on, I am wasting my time here…..
I
guess he was able to read my thoughts from my expression. With a grin, he
turned on his laptop and asked me to pick any market, any instrument that I
would like to see and he would show me how prices would stop at every level
that he indicated. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, I picked some US
stocks, he showed me where the prices stopped. Lucky guess, I said to myself. I
picked commodities, same thing happened. Then I came back to our local market,
SGX…..any other markets that I know of. I was blown away. Every time he showed
where the prices stopped. No one can be that lucky I guess. He then told me
there was more to show, what he’d just showed me was just the tip of an ice
berg. And guess what….I decided to go under his apprenticeship.
During
the course of my training, I was taught to read charts as if you are seeing a
story from the price movements. It was through this story we understood the
next moves. I was drilled hard on how to read charts, no indicators, only
prices. I was tested on the commodities, forex and equity markets. I was
shown chart and asked if there was a trade. Be my answer Yes or NO, I must
explain why. There is no “maybe” there is a trade, no guessing work. My answers
had to be substantiated by what I have been taught. As time passed, my
vision on the charts improved and I could call trades.
After
few months of his mentorship, I was convinced and finally was ready to trade
the market. My results were encouraging as I was able to predict the market
accurately. Now my target is to follow my fellow seniors who had started
earlier, some of whom are making the equivalent of my monthly employment
income. Unlike many training schools that I’ve heard of, where their purpose is
to get the existing students to recruit more students for the schools or where
only the trainers are making money and not the students. My seniors are more
than willing to share their experience and trading skills with their juniors.
I
am very serious and very enthusiastic about this. Drop me an email or give me a
call if you would like to know more. Thank you.
Happy
“Pipping”.

p.s.:
My
team and I constantly share our trading ideas and accurately calling the
market. My trainer sends his market views from time to time to motivate us. This
was his most recent whatsapp message to the trading group on 30th April 2015.
This
is not his first time telling us what to trade. His aim was not to spoon feed
his traders but only to prove that his methodology works. In no time our team
capable of calling the same trades as him. By the way, the trade above made us
money.
In
October last year, our team bought the USDJPY as alerted to us by our
trainer. This alone netted us more than 1000 points. This is the chart
given to use and price moved as predicted by our trainer.
